Life can throw us curveballs, and sometimes the people we love the most are taken from us too soon. That’s exactly what John Stamos is feeling right now. The beloved actor, known for his roles in Full House and many other hits, took to social media to share some deeply personal news. Paula Haynes, a cherished friend and devoted fan, has passed away. John's heartfelt tribute paints a vivid picture of Paula’s life and the profound influence she had on him.

A Friendship Forged Over Three Decades

John Stamos opened up about the loss of Paula Haynes, a woman who he described as one of his “dearest, most important, and most inspiring friends.” In a heartfelt Facebook post, John shared how Paula’s life, though marked by challenges, was filled with grace and determination. “Life wasn’t crappy to Paula,” John wrote. “She was dealt a tough hand at birth, but she made the absolute most of it and lived more fully than most of us ever could.” Their friendship began over 30 years ago, in June 1986, when John met Paula through The Beach Boys. From there, their bond grew stronger with every passing year. Paula would travel to LA to watch tapings of Full House, while John would visit her in Memphis. Even when their paths took them to different places, like when John performed on Broadway, Paula was always there, cheering him on—though she may not have been a fan of seeing him in a dress and garter belts during Cabaret!

Paula’s Unwavering Spirit

John described Paula as a beacon of morality and spirituality. “She had the moral compass of my Mother, Mother Theresa, and Mother Mary all rolled into one,” he wrote. Paula had an uncanny ability to sense when John needed her most, offering guidance and keeping him grounded. Despite her physical limitations, Paula never let her disabilities hinder her zest for life. In fact, she lived her life on her own terms, refusing to let anything slow her down. John shared how he even bought her a motorized wheelchair to help her get around more easily. When they couldn’t meet in person, they would spend hours on the phone or texting, maintaining their close connection. Paula’s unwavering faith and prayers carried John through some of the toughest moments in his life.

John couldn’t help but marvel at Paula’s remarkable spirit. “If there was ever a person who was an absolute shoe-in to get into heaven, skip the line, and have the best seat in the house, it’s Paula Haynes,” he wrote. Paula’s life was a shining example of how to live without taking anything for granted. For John, she was one of his favorite people, a constant in a world that’s always changing. He reminded readers not to take such constants for granted, urging everyone to cherish the people who bring light into our lives. “Nothing, absolutely nothing lasts forever,” he reflected. “If you’re as lucky as I was to have a friend like Paula Haynes, cherish it.”

John concluded his tribute by thanking God for bringing Paula into his life. “She’s yours now,” he wrote, “but she’d say she always was.” He promised to uphold the decency Paula held him accountable for, vowing not to let her down. “Until we meet again, Boyfriend,” he signed off, honoring Paula’s playful nickname for him. Our thoughts are with John during this difficult time as he mourns the loss of a truly extraordinary friend.
