Hey there, folks! Let me tell you something exciting. Billy Joel and his wife, Alexis Roderick, are adding another little bundle of joy to their family. The legendary singer, who’s now 68 years old, let the world know during an interview with the Belfast Telegraph on October 18, 2023, that Alexis, who’s 35, is eight months along with their second child. This news is just as thrilling as their first baby announcement!
A New Addition to the Joel Family
During that same interview, Billy couldn’t help but share his excitement. "We are due next month," he revealed. For those keeping track, Billy and Alexis tied the knot back in July 2015. They're already parents to their adorable two-year-old daughter, Della Rose Joel, who was born in August 2015. Billy also has a grown daughter named Alexa Ray Joel, who’s 31, from his previous marriage to supermodel Christie Brinkley. Now, with this new baby on the way, the family is about to get even bigger!
Life with Little Della Rose
When Billy spoke about his toddler daughter, he couldn’t help but smile. “This one is good. She sleeps through the night. I hope the next one will too," he said. Billy went on to share some of Della’s favorite pastimes. "Her favorite TV shows are Peppa Pig and PAW Patrol. Right now, though, she’s out all day long, so she’s not really watching a lot of TV. I’m sure she’ll be glued to the screen soon enough!” It sounds like Billy is already preparing himself for another round of parenthood, and who can blame him? It’s a wild but beautiful ride!

Becoming a Dad Again
Billy opened up about becoming a dad for the second time later in life during a recent appearance on Harry Connick Jr.’s daytime talk show, Harry. He shared, "[Della] comes in every morning and throws my shorts on the bed and says, 'Get out of bed, Daddy.' It’s such a sweet moment every single day.” Billy and Alexis, who’s an equestrian and former Morgan Stanley executive, have already noticed Della might have a future career in music since she can already belt out tunes in perfect pitch. That’s some serious talent right there!
Billy has also expressed how grateful he is to have found love again with his fourth wife, Alexis. In a previous interview, he said, “You can have all the money in the world, you can have mansions, properties, yachts, limousines, motorcycles, but if you don’t have love, it doesn’t mean a goddamn thing.” We couldn’t agree more, Billy! We’re so thrilled that Billy and Alexis are expanding their family and can’t wait to welcome their new little one next month.
