When Jane Fonda and Robert Redford first wowed audiences in 1967's classic romantic comedy Barefoot in the Park, their chemistry was undeniable. "I couldn’t keep my hands off him," Jane recalls with a laugh. "I was all over him like a rash!" Fast forward fifty years, and it seems the magic hasn’t faded one bit.

In Netflix’s highly anticipated film Our Souls at Night, Jane plays a widow who sets her sights on rekindling a romance with her long-time neighbor, played by Robert. "Let me tell you something," Jane says with a twinkle in her eye, "I still live for those sex scenes with Robert. He’s an incredible kisser, and it was just as fun kissing him in my twenties as it is now in my almost-eighties." The film dives into the complexities of love later in life, proving that romance doesn’t have an expiration date.

Decades of Chemistry: From The Chase to Our Souls at Night

For Jane, 79, and Robert, 81, this isn't their first rodeo together. They first collaborated in 1966's The Chase and later reunited in 1979’s The Electric Horseman. Robert reflects fondly on their partnership, saying, "There’s a real love and connection between Jane and me. Things have always been effortless with her." In real life, Robert has been married to Sibylle Szaggars since 2009, while Jane recently ended her relationship with boyfriend Richard Perry. But on-screen, their bond remains as strong as ever.

    Love Grows Better With Age

Both Robert and Jane agree that romantic love only intensifies with time. "It just keeps getting better," Robert says. Jane nods in agreement, adding, "We get braver as we age. What do we have to lose? Sure, our skin might not be as tight as it used to be, but we know what makes us happy—and that’s what truly matters." Their on-screen chemistry proves that love knows no age limit.

Jane’s Busy Life Beyond the Screen

Jane’s career is as vibrant as ever, thanks in large part to her Emmy-nominated role alongside Lily Tomlin in Netflix’s Grace and Frankie. The show has been renewed for a fourth season, and Jane couldn’t be more thrilled. "It’s such a joy to give older women a voice in pop culture," she says. "I’ve already had three love interests on the show, and I’m always open to more!" If Jane’s looking for a fourth suitor, we’ve got just the guy in mind—Robert Redford, of course!
