Alright, folks, let’s take a deep breath! Steven Tyler is here to set the record straight. After canceling Aerosmith’s South American tour, the legendary rock star has taken to social media to assure fans that he’s doing just fine. Wild theories have been swirling about his health, but Steven wants everyone to know he’s not in any serious danger. “I give you all an A+ for creative speculations, but I certainly did not have a heart attack or a seizure (unless Joe Perry is taking a rippin’ lead),” he joked in a Twitter statement. He explained that the tour was cut short because he needed a specific medical procedure that only his doctor back in the States could perform.

Aerosmith Fans Were Left in Shock
On Tuesday, September 26, Aerosmith fans were left heartbroken when they learned about the sudden cancellation of the band’s South American tour. The initial explanation—that Steven was dealing with some “unexpected medical issues”—only fueled the concern. His original Twitter statement was frustratingly vague, revealing that the band wouldn’t be making stops in Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and Mexico between September 27 and October 7 because he was “seeking immediate care” for his mysterious health issues.
The 69-year-old frontman also mentioned that his doctors had advised him that he “cannot travel or perform at this time.” But he reassured fans by saying, “I am not in life-threatening condition, but I need to deal with this right away. Some medical care immediately is necessary in order to sustain and maintain my future performances. I promise I’ll be back.” And Steven wasted no time—he flew directly back to the US after his São Paulo show to get the treatment he needed.
Back Home With Support
Luckily for Steven, he’s got a loving support system waiting for him back home. His stunning girlfriend (and possibly fiancée) Aimee Preston will be there to take care of him during his recovery. Plus, he can spend some quality time with his new grandson, Axton, while he heals up. It’s not all bad news for the rock icon, even if he had to cut the tour short.

No Need to Worry
From the start, the statement made it clear that Steven is expected to make a full recovery. The band assured fans that “with proper rest and treatment, he will be back on his feet soon, rocking the world.” Steven himself echoed this sentiment, telling fans that he “loves you all and will be back with you soon.”
Of course, rushing back to the US immediately sparked fears among fans, but Steven’s personality might have played a role in the decision. He’s known for being particular, and he’s admitted that this trait has caused friction with the band in the past. Back in 2012, he told 60 Minutes, “My perfectionism and my busting everyone’s chops is what got this band to where it is today. In the end, I get a really good song and in the end, I get the hits. Yeah, I’m that good.”
It seems like whatever procedure Steven underwent, he’s healing well. Fans everywhere are hoping he feels healthy and gets back to touring as soon as possible. We miss the rock and roll magic, Steven, but we’re glad you’re taking care of yourself!
