A Deep Father-Daughter Connection
Every moment Daphne spends with her dad is a lesson in itself. "Being around him is like being in a constant state of learning," she says. "That’s who he is. He’s endlessly curious, always seeking knowledge. There’s no end to his thirst for learning, and he’s always eager to share the coolest things he discovers." Now, Daphne recently announced her departure from The Chew in August, but that hasn't changed her perspective on her dad. While she acknowledges their similarities, she’s quick to point out that they're not entirely alike. "I feel like the The Chew audience sees that I’m not just a carbon copy of him," she adds. And despite their chemistry, she doesn’t think they’ll ever co-host a show together.
Growing Up Before Fame
Here's something interesting: Daphne grew up in a time when her dad wasn’t the household name he is today. "People tend to forget that I didn’t grow up with the famous 'Dr. Oz.' Sure, he was an incredible heart surgeon, but it wasn’t until my high school years that he started appearing on Oprah, and he didn’t get his own show until I was in college," she recalls. This gives her a unique perspective on her father's journey and the man he was before the spotlight.

A Family Man Despite the Hustle
Even with his jam-packed schedule, Dr. Oz makes it a point to be there for his grandkids, Philomena, who's 3, and one-year-old John Jr. He admits he can't resist spoiling them a little, too. "Yesterday, we were coming home late, and I gave them chocolates. I figured, well, it’s just a bit of caffeine. It’ll wear off," he joked in a previous interview with Closer. Clearly, the grandkids bring a fresh energy to their lives, and Dr. Oz cherishes every moment with them.
