But it was her role as Susan Hunter Martin on Days of Our Lives from 1966 to 1973 that really made her a household name. After wrapping up her time on Days, Denise stepped into the role of Dr. Lesley Williams on General Hospital. For over a decade, she became a beloved figure in Port Charles. Later, she took on the role of Mary McKinnon on Another World, but she returned to General Hospital in 1996. Her character Lesley faded into the background around 2009, but she made a triumphant return in 2013 for the show’s 50th-anniversary celebration.
Lesley and Rick Webber: A Legendary Love Story
Back in the day, Lesley and Rick Webber were the ultimate power couple on GH. Their romance captured the hearts of fans throughout the '70s and early '80s. But tragedy struck when Lesley "died" in a car accident in 1984. Or so we thought! In 1996, it was revealed that Stefan Cassadine had been holding her in a catatonic state all along. Thanks to Luke’s heroic efforts, Lesley and Laura managed to escape the clutches of the Cassadines and returned to Port Charles. Talk about a twist!
